Writer's Guidelines
Mosaix, featured personal-growth articles, celebrity profiles, and well-reported pieces on political and social issues. They also look for articles on relationships, careers, money, health and fitness. And they run short items on community leaders and people in the arts. Word length is given upon assignment.
Please send a query letter rather than submitting a completed manuscript. Articles submitted for department columns should run no longer than 750 words and should be clearly addressed for which department it is for.
They cannot discuss story ideas over the telephone, nor can they respond to queries that come by fax or e-mail.
Give a clear outline of your story; one page is sufficient. It would also help to include a brief biography that describes your writing experience, and some clips. If you would like to submit more than one idea, write a separate query for each topic. Check masthead in the current issue for the names of the appropriate editors.
If they think your subject is of interest to our readers but you are a writer new to Mosaix, you may be asked to submit the completed manuscript on speculation. Payment will be made if the article is accepted for publication.
All manuscripts should be provided in a text document. They cannot be responsible for unsolicited material. Be sure to include your name, address and daytime phone number, Allow six to eight weeks for review.
